Friday, February 20 - “A” Day
Today, we honor Charlotte Forten Grimké, a 19th-century abolitionist and educator who fought for economic opportunities for African Americans. As one of the first African American teachers in the South during the Civil War, Grimké worked tirelessly to provide education and job training to newly freed slaves, empowering them to build independent lives.
The March Madness of Books is quickly approaching. Which genre, title and author will prevail as the top choice of NMS students? Stop by the library and make your predictions of how the competition plays out this year. All completed brackets are due by3:30pm on Friday, February 28th. Voting begins the first week of March.
