at Millard North Middle School

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is a non-profit educational foundation, motivated by its mission statement, focused on the student.  The International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) is for students aged 11-16 (6th – 10th Grade).  It encourages students to make practical connections between their studies and the real world, preparing them for success in further study and in life.

Past, Present and Future at MNMS:

The International Baccalaureate – Middle Years Program (MYP) was implemented in at MNMS in 2005.  We started as a school within a school where students could select to be in the program.  Since we started the program, enrollment has increased.  During the 2012-2013 school year, the North Middle School Strategic Planning Committee made up of parent, students and staff created an action plan to transition NMS to an all IB-MYP school.  As a result of increasing demand for participation in the IB-MYP at NMS, in the 2013-2014 school year, all of the sixth, seventh, and eighth grade classes were all MYP and we became a whole school IB-MYP school.
