Principal's Post

This is Scott Ingwerson, Principal at Millard North Middle School.  I want to welcome you all to another school year.  We, at North Middle School, are excited to start the year with your students.  I want to touch base with you about a few topics:

  1. On the first day of school, August 13th, all students should bring their schedules, if they have them.  For those who have not obtained their schedules, we will have copies ready.  On the first day of school, we have an altered schedule: 7th and 8th grade students will attend from 7:45-10:15 and 6th grade students will attend from 11:15-3:00. Please make transportation arrangements for your student.  Buses will be running that day.

  2. The student drop-off traffic in front of school tends to be crowded.  To help make the environment as safe as we can for our students, please only drop off your student in the West lane closest to the school, the East lane is for thru traffic only.  Many parents drop their student off over the bridge on the other side of Center Street or in the neighborhood to avoid the traffic, I would recommend these strategies. We will have extra staff out front during morning drop-off to help with the traffic, making it as safe as we can.

After school, all students will need to be off campus by 3:20 or working with a teacher and supervised.  Please make arrangements ensuring your student is safe and supervised after 3:20. Student are not allowed to be on campus after 3:20 if they are not with a staff member. Please visit the Millard North Middle School website to see details about the After School Plan, including area options your student may want to take advantage of after school, both on and off campus.
