Rotary Honor Roll Student Applications

          The Rotary Club is a world-wide group of business and professional men and women from various walks of life, races, and religions.  They share a commitment to service: service to humankind, to community, to the nation and to deserving people and ideals everywhere.  The Rotary Honor Roll recognizes outstanding achievement on the part of eighth graders throughout the city. Being selected as a Rotary Honor Roll student is one of the highest recognitions that a Millard North Middle School eighth grader can receive.  


Criteria of Excellence

Leadership The student is fair-minded, honest and truthful.

The student directs others enthusiastically.

The student is sympathetic, cooperative and liked by others.

Character The student is pleasant and courteous.

The student assumes responsibility and discharges it satisfactorily.

The student is respectful to others.

Scholarship The student applies himself/herself to his/her studies.

The student works well in the classroom with others and teachers.

Presence The student presents herself/himself well.



Applications to become a Rotary Honor Roll Student are now available. The Rotary Honor Roll recognizes outstanding achievement on the part of eighth graders throughout the city. Being selected as a Rotary Honor Roll student is one of the highest recognitions that an NMS eighth grader can receive.  If selected, you will attend a luncheon and meet many of Omaha’s business, professional, and community leaders. Your name will be added to the plaque in the Pit trophy case and you’ll be recognized at Honors Night. You may also have the opportunity to apply for a Rotary scholarship when you are a senior in high school.  8th graders interested in applying for the Rotary Honor Roll should pick up an application from your History teacher. Applications are due Friday, January 24 by 3:30. All applications need to be turned into Mrs. Kavan in 507 or the main office. Please contact Mrs. Kavan, alkavan@mpsomaha.org, with any questions.
